Kool Beanz BULLDOGS Footscray is Now Open

On Tuesday 10 February, Kool Beanz BULLDOGS Footscray childcare and kindergarten centre officially opened its doors, welcoming families from Footscray and surrounding suburbs to a vibrant, inspiring early learning environment. This centre marks an exciting milestone for our family-owned organisation – it’s our first centre in Victoria and our very first Kool Beanz BULLDOGS centre, bringing a one-of-a-kind  early learning experience to the state. 

Developed in partnership with the Western Bulldogs AFL Club, Plenary Group, Western Health and SHAPE Australia, Kool Beanz BULLDOGS Footscray reflects a shared vision for high-quality, play-based learning. Together, we’ve  created a thoughtfully designed environment that supports children, families and the local area within a growing, connected precinct. 

A First for Victoria: Footscray’s Rooftop Early Learning Centre 

Situated in the heart of Footscray’s new hospital precinct,  our purpose-built rooftop centre welcomes families from Footscray and surrounding areas, providing care for up to 90 children aged six weeks to six years in a warm, inclusive and inspiring environment. 

Our play-based programs extend beyond school readiness. We focus on nurturing children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development, building confidence, resilience and a genuine love of learning from the very beginning. 

The centre features five thoughtfully designed learning rooms, along with dedicated spaces including: 

• An art studio 

• A library 

• A Lego room 

• A STEM room 

Each space has been created with intention, ensuring children have opportunities to explore, discover and grow in ways that feel meaningful and engaging. 

A Rooftop Like No Other 

A standout feature of Kool Beanz BULLDOGS Footscray is its expansive rooftop outdoor environment. Designed to inspire movement, imagination and connection with nature, the space includes: 

• A mini AFL football field 

• Water creek play 

• A zen garden 

• A vegetable patch 

• Climbing and swing areas 

• A bird aviary 

This dynamic outdoor environment supports sensory and inclusive play, helping children develop both physically and socially, while strengthening their sense of belonging.

Through our  partnership with the Western Bulldogs AFL Club, Kool Beanz BULLDOGS Footscray celebrates teamwork, connection and healthy, active lifestyles. These shared values  are reflected throughout the centre’s design and daily experiences. 

At the heart of everything are our educators. Through strong, respectful relationships with children and families, our team ensures every child feels safe, supported and genuinely valued.
